Planning and executing the show On Leaving at SiamseTíre has been a revelation for me.
I am a bigger braver person after this fantastic experience.It is the most comprehensive and meaningful expression of the project to date and I look forward to presenting it to as many as is possible over the next year or so.Thanks to all at the venue who facilitated its realisation.
A survey for the departed(the series pictured in the exhibition space above) is a reconsidering of the spaces once occupied by the spirit and body of the participants of the leaving Dublin series of portraits. The Images are made specifically for those photographed and together they show an empty city in mourning for what it has lost.
In the show on leaving in Siamse Tíre I have chosen to hang the corresponding work from the series to compliment the large portraits in the circular gallery.No titles appear on the works in the circular Gallery whilst the survey shots show the names and locations for the corresponding portraits printed on the bottom right of each print,and they hang in the same order when viewed from left to right as in the image above.(full information on all of the 84 works in the leaving Dublin portrait series appear printed on the wall of Gallery 3) The works were captured on 4x5 shortly after dawn and from a slightly different perspective than the original works.

To date I have made about 30 of these images and I will return to the work next spring when the dawn is early enough to allow a depopulated image.When finished the works should number around 80 pieces so still some way to go!
As a nation we to have some way to go down the tube of the vortex that continues to spin us till we are senseless. Allow me to allude to next years futures!
SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 2.5 AND 3.1 BILLION EURO WILL BE TAKEN OUT OF THE ECONOMY NEXT YEAR!
ON THE GROUND THIS WILL SUPPLY US WITH A NEW LOW!
ULTIMATELY FAMILIAL MIGRATIONS WILL INCREASE IN FREQUENCY AND RATE!
ENHANCING THE APPEARANCE OF RECOVERY
BY DISTORTING THE EMPLOYMENT FIGURES.
BUT WE WILL FEEL THE LOSS
STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!

Above is the original plan for the hanging and of course some small changes had to be made on installation.Nothing is written in stone and a work becomes of a place when it is in the place!
Banking has been used as a weapon for centuries. Just why did you ignore the warning that I left with the PAC? I said the Revenue ordered Inspectors of Taxes not to police the banks. Yet the High officials denied it. You were greedy. You are learning the penalty for attachment to material things. Keep on electing thieves and see just how bad things will get. The population is about to get a boost from Rumania and Bulgaria. Enjoy!

no whirlwind here fungus! Just a slow grind.Although things might look a little different from far away.Thankfully there is a two way street between E.U. countries.
